OUR STORY

Hi! I am Valerie and pumpkins have been a lifelong love. Growing up on my parent's farm, my brother and I grew great big Atlantic Giants and sold them in our driveway each autumn. We would proudly display the biggest on our farmhouse front steps.

As an adult, creating dreamy autumn pumpkin displays on my own front porch is an event I look forward to each year. Sky Vale Pumpkins was born out of that joy and it is my hope to spread some of it to others.

We had the pleasure of providing pumpkins for the Port of Everett’s Haunted Harbor event yesterday. We installed a mini package on their huge Adirondack chair and then unloaded 300+ pumpkins for their very own pumpkin patch. The blustery weather was no match for the team unloading and setting up the event.

We absolutely love spreading autumn magic 🧡🍂✨ to porches, businesses, waterfronts, and huge chairs around the Sound 😄.

I finally installed my own front porch and love the way it turned out. A friend of mine remarked that it reminded her of a certain Wicked Witch and that we should offer green and white packages for her and pink and white packages for her Good Witch counterpart. I think this might be genius.

Hi friends!
As we begin season two it’s time to reintroduce myself.

My name is Valerie and I am the woman behind Sky Vale Pumpkins. I was inspired to start this business after seeing the amazing work of Heather Torres from Porch Pumpkins in Dallas.

Pumpkins have been a lifelong love of mine. As children, my brother and I would grow giant pumpkins and sell them from the end of our driveway. We would set aside a few of the biggest and proudly display them on our front steps.

As an adult I have always loved decorating my own front porch each autumn and it is a joy to see my little boys delight in the pumpkins we display.

Combining two of my favorite things, design and pumpkins, is a dream come true, but that dream doesn’t happen without the support I have around me.

Sky Vale Pumpkins is a family business and I am fortunate to have a team of people working along side me.

My husband, Eric, and our two little boys pitch in whenever they can behind the scenes. By day, Eric is a high school teacher and by night, he is a website creator, pumpkin picker, equipment checker, and so much more.

My mom, Dolores, and sister, Kait, design porches with me. My dad, Jim, does most of our tractor work and deliveries. I am so thankful for each of them.

This weekend we will pick our fields and pumpkin installations start on 21 September. It’s going to be an exciting season and we are happy to have you along for the ride.

One of our summer family traditions is doing a nightly pumpkin tour. We walk around and check the progress of our crop. This is the time of summer that we start seeing major gains on a weekly basis as they start increasing in size and developing their shape.

They are brought to the Qualco Biodigester and used to create green energy that goes directly onto the power grid. The byproduct of this process is high quality, nutrient rich compost that is then used to grow our Sky Vale Pumpkins.

Meet Rouge Vif D`Etampes. Sometimes called a Cinderella pumpkin, this deep red-orange beauty is a must have on your front porch. She works in stacks or on her side, her deep color creating the perfect backdrop for lighter colored pumpkins. She is a staple in our fall front porch displays.
